Terms and conditions

These apply to everybody who installs Vortex Player or buys a licence for it. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

1. What is sold here

A licence to use an application, and nothing else.

Vortex Player is a media player. We sell no channels, no films, no series and no subscriptions. We provide no playlists and cannot obtain one for you. What you watch, where it comes from, and whether you are entitled to watch it is yours to arrange and yours to answer for.

If you were told otherwise by somebody selling you something, you were told wrong, and this page is what counts.

2. The trial

Every fresh installation gets 7 days with nothing withheld. No card, no account, no obligation. When it ends the application says so.

One trial belongs to one device. Reinstalling the application, clearing its files or reinstalling the operating system does not start a new one — the address is tied to the machine, on purpose.

3. The licence

A licence is issued to one device address, the one printed on the application's home screen. It is not transferable between devices, and it is not a subscription: nothing renews and nothing is charged again by itself.

A licence lasts for the period you bought — a year, or without end. When a dated licence runs out, the application keeps working for a short grace period, dimmed and with a notice, so nobody is cut off mid-evening. After that it stops playing until a licence is added.

4. What you must not do

• Use the application with content you are not entitled to use.
• Resell licences unless you have a reseller account with us.
• Take the application apart to work around the licence, or to make something

that does.

• Attack the service: guessing at device addresses and keys, flooding it, or

trying to read another customer's playlists.

We may block a device that does any of this, without a refund.

5. Your playlists

If you store a playlist with us, we hold the address and, where there is one, the username and password — encrypted. We do not open it, index it, or look at what is in it. You may delete it from the application at any time, and deleting it deletes it here.

6. What we promise, and what we do not

We will keep the service running and keep the application working with what it already plays. We do not promise that it is uninterrupted, that every provider's stream will play, or that a future television will be supported.

The application does not need our service to play. It checks in, and if it cannot reach us it goes on working with what it last knew — so a bad night at our end is not a bad night at yours.

7. Liability

We are responsible for what the law makes us responsible for, and we do not try to write that away. Beyond that, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the licence it concerns. We are not liable for what you watch, for what your provider does, or for a television that cannot play a format.

Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or anything caused by our own gross negligence or bad faith — and nothing here removes a right a consumer has by law.

8. Price and tax

Prices are shown on the site and include tax where tax applies. The rate is the one for the country you are buying from.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change matters to you — price, what a licence buys, what we may do with your data — you will see it announced in the application and on this site before it applies. A licence already bought keeps the terms it was bought under until it ends.

10. Ending it

You may stop using the application whenever you like. We may end a licence without a refund only for the things in section 4, and we will say which one.

11. Law

Romanian law applies, and the courts of Romania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the law where you live.
