What this application is
Vortex Player is a media player. It stores no video, hosts no streams and distributes no content. We sell no channels, films or series, and we provide no playlists. A customer brings their own — an address they got somewhere else — and the player reads it and asks that address for the stream. The video never passes through us.
What this means in practice: we cannot take down a channel, because we do not have one. We are not the host. The host is whoever serves the stream, and that is who a takedown belongs to.
What we can do
If a customer of ours is using our player with a playlist that infringes your rights, tell us and we will act. We can block the installation, which stops that copy of the application from playing anything at all.
How to write
Send to [email protected], with:
1. Who you are, and the right you hold or represent. 2. The work concerned, precisely enough for us to recognise it. 3. What you saw, and where — the playlist address, the channel name, and the device address if you have it. Without something that identifies an installation there is nothing for us to act on. 4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. 5. A statement that what you have told us is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or act for them.
We answer within five working days.
What happens next
We tell the customer what was said and who said it, and we block the installation if the complaint holds up. If they show us they are entitled to what they were watching, we unblock it and tell you why.
A complaint that is repeated and repeatedly wrong, or sent to silence somebody rather than to protect a right, is one we will stop acting on.
What we will not do
We will not hand over a customer's details on the strength of an e-mail. A court order or a lawful request from an authority is another matter, and we comply with those.
